BT is offering free work placements to help young people in the Birmingham area get ‘work ready’ and prepared for their future careers. The latest one in Birmingham starts this Thursday. The three-week course, combining hands-on work experience with coaching and training, is open to anyone aged 16 to 24 not currently in education, employment or training.

Fund-raisers have a splashing time at sixth annual Mad Dash Raft Race! Around £560 has been raised for local good causes from this year’s Mad Dash Raft Race in Herefordshire after more than 50 participants made the splash for cash. The annual event is run by Madley-based BT staff and their family and friends who make up the MadSat Raft Team, which formed around 30 years ago.
