More than 1,200 homes and businesses in Kelso are now able to connect to high-speed fibre broadband thanks to the £428M Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme. Kelso Wheelers Cycling Club and Scottish Borders Council helped to unveil the town's latest fibre-based technology this week.

More than 160,000 homes and businesses in the Highlands and Islands are now part of the high speed fibre broadband network, thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband (DSSB) roll-out. The roll-out contract, being led by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and delivered on the ground by Openreach, the UK’s leading digital infrastructure provider, has passed its original coverage target.

More than 1,000 homes and businesses in Colinton, Edinburgh are now able to connect to high-speed fibre broadband thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme. The Digital Scotland team unveiled one of the new fibre street cabinets that will serve part of the village last week with Ian Henderson from the Colinton Inn and Bistro.

Superfast broadband is coming to more homes in Woodilee near Kirkintilloch after a successful community campaign for faster speeds. Residents in 59 local households will be able to order new high-speed fibre broadband services for the first time, thanks to a partnership between the community and BT.

More than 100 homes in the village of Gatehead near Kilmarnock now have access to much faster broadband speeds for the first time – thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast broadband rollout. The Gatehead homes were too far from their original fibre broadband street cabinet to see much improvement in speed. So engineers from Openreach, BT’s local network business, rearranged the network.
