More than 100 homes in the village of Gatehead near Kilmarnock now have access to much faster broadband speeds for the first time – thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast broadband rollout. The Gatehead homes were too far from their original fibre broadband street cabinet to see much improvement in speed. So engineers from Openreach, BT’s local network business, rearranged the network.

Pupils from Spittal Primary School were superfast in finding out the benefits of fibre broadband when the Digital Scotland Fibre Showcase paid them a visit this week. More than 5,000 premises households and businesses in Rutherglen can now access high-speed fibre services thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme.

It was top marks for Digital Scotland this week as pupils from Comrie Primary School helped welcome the arrival of fibre broadband in the village. Around 800 households and businesses in Comrie can now access high-speed fibre services as part of the £410 million Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme.

Pupils from Milngavie Primary School jumped on board the Digital Scotland Fibre Showcase this week to learn all about high-speed broadband. More than 3,500 households and businesses in Bearsden and Milngavie can now connect to the new fibre services through the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme.
