Staffordshire youngsters can kick-start their careers as free BT work placement scheme comes to Stoke-on-Trent for the first time

BT is on the look-out for 30 young people in Staffordshire who want to kick-start their working life with a free work placement in Stoke-on-Trent. It's the first time BT's 'Work Ready' programme has come to north Staffordshire. Young people have a choice of two courses - one takes place in April and another one in June. Both will be held in the company's Hanley offices.

Admaston, Booth and Hanbury are among the local communities to benefit from the £1.7m expansion of Superfast Staffordshire. Demand for new technology has been especially high in Abbots Bromley, Alrewas, Barton-Under-Needwood, Burton-on-Trent, Field, Fradley, Kings Bromley and Yoxall. The timely arrival of superfast broadband has helped to safeguard creative digital agency’s Fradley base.

A £1.7 million boost to the Superfast Staffordshire roll-out will benefit more than 1,300 more premises, including in Comberford, Hilton, Lower Stonnall, Pipe Hill and Thorpe Constantine. There's been especially high demand for new technology in Alrewas, Amington, Barton-under-Needwood, Bolehall, Bourne Vale, Fradley, Harlaston, Hawks Green, Kings Bromley, Little Aston, Stonnall and Yoxall.
